Special Pediatric Techniques

Adjustments for children are very different then adjustments on an adult spine.
These are specific, gentle adjusting techniques that use low force and small contact points to restore proper nerve function in children’s delicate spines.
Pediatric Chiropractic
It is easy to see that a child’s anatomy is different then an adults. As we grow we go through a variety of developmental stages. Taking these differences into account our pediatric techniques vary, depending on the age and experiences of the child. The spine is still analyzed for segmental motion, and any misalignment's are corrected with manual adjustments or instrument assisted. These adjustments are very different then adjustments on an adult spine. We use smaller contact points, sometimes just the tip of our pinky or index finger. Also the pressure and depth is very light since children do not have as much muscular resistance. We also check infant’s cranial bones, and meningeal system for signs of dural torque or stress. These seemingly simple adjustments make a huge difference in a child’s life. By removing nerve interference at such a young age, our pediatric practice members are sick less often, nurse better, experience fewer ear infections, take fewer medications, sleep better and heal faster.
When practice members start playing competitive sports in high school, middle school, or younger we frequently check the extremity joints (knees, feet, ankles, shoulders, anything other then the spine). With regular adjustments, they experience increase coordination and a decrease in injuries, giving them the competitive edge.
